Can Revival happen in our region?
Of all the moves of God since Pentecost, church leaders and historians consider the 1904 Welsh Revival and subsequent 1906 Azusa Street Revival, the greatest church-reviving and culture-transforming awakenings in history. Throughout the history of the church, relationships have been the centerpiece of Earth’s greatest spiritual battles. The devil attacks who God is—love! Broken relationships are therefore the breeding ground for division. Lack of unity within God’s Family has always been the biggest…Kingdom Killer. Initially, in each of these revivals, there was a groundswell of agreement. But, in time, jealousy and division would erode this unity. Yet, the prayer of Jesus to His Father in John 17:23 still cries out to be answered, “May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” One unlikely city that is seeing unprecedented unity amongst its spiritual leaders, across racial and denominational lines, is California’s capital, Sacramento. As America’s most integrated and multi-racial city, hundreds of Sacramento pastors and youth leaders regularly gather for fellowship and prayer. God has placed this secret for unity in your city as well. It’s called the Body of Christ. If we are willing to love like Jesus loved, we can see breaches healed, communities united, and bridges of healing and hope built across every relational divide. If there were a move of God is your city, what responsibility would you have? What relationships would God the Father want you to heal and restore?
